  • Arrive at Tokyo – Narita International Airport where you will be greeted by our English-speaking assistant, who will be responsible for transferring you to your hotel in downtown Tokyo, in a private car.
  • After having spent the night on board, take the time to relax and settle into your hotel.
  • Then, go out and discover the Japanese capital for the first time on your own. Start by staring in amazement at the bustling heart of Tokyo: thedistrict of Shibuya, renowned for having the biggest intersection in the world! You will be stunned by the big screens and charmed by the small pedestrian streets where you will find many shops selling fashionable clothes for young people!
  • Continue towardsHarajuku, the trendy, youth district: do not miss Takeshita-Dori pedestrian street , which will delight your children if they are interested in fashion!
  • Finally, if you are looking for a haven of tranquillity in this urban jungle, stroll around Yoyogi Park, the largest park in Tokyo. This forest inside the city houses Meiji-jingu shrine, one of the most sacred places in Tokyo.

  • After having seen the bustling city of Tokyo up close the previous evening, make the most of today to soak up the atmosphere of this unique city, between green spaces and skyscrapers.
  • Start the day by visiting the Buddhist temple of Senso-ji and the lively Asakusa district, which is lined with tiny shops selling traditional wares and coloured sweets.
  • Continue your visit with Ueno Park. It is very popular with Tokyoites on the weekend when they like to unwind on the banks of the Lake, which is covered with beautiful water lilies.
  • The children will enjoy visiting Ueno Zoo , the oldest and most famous zoo in Japan, which houses over 450 different species.
  • If you are fond of computers, do not miss Akibahara, the Electric Town, where you will find state-of-the-art electronics as well as huge manga stores where you can buy figurines and other merchandise.
  • If you feel like relaxing, sit down in a maid’s cafe where a charming waitress dressed up as a manga character will welcome you to its futuristic atmosphere .
  • In the evening, go to the artificial island of Odaiba which is full of activities that will delight your children. They can play a plethora of video games in Joypolis or go up on the Ferris Wheel from which you can enjoy an amazing view of Tokyo! Try out the puri-kura, Japanese photo booths, which offer many different coloured backgrounds and customizable pictures – fun and laughter guaranteed!

  • Discover the wonderful world of Hayao Miyazaki, the most famous anime film director in Japan! As you visit the Ghibli Museum, step into the world of the creator of Totoro, Chihiro and Princess Mononoke and see how his anime features are created. You will find original drawings and a giant Cat Bus, watch an unaired animated film and even meet a robot who escaped from Laputa, the castle in the sky, on the roof.
  • In the afternoon, stroll around the Imperial Palace Gardens and walk to Ginza, where you can admire the modern architectural style of the department stores! Enter the Sony Building and test the brand’s latest innovations in the showroom. Continue on to the refined Hama Rykyu Japanese garden, an oasis amidst the buildings of the district of Shimbashi. From there, you can take a boat up the Sumida river.
  • In the evening, discover Japan’s most iconic sport – sumo –and attend a match in Ryôgoku Kokugi-kan Stadium. (optional since tournaments only take place on some dates in January, May and September).

  • In the afternoon, leave for Kegon Falls and take a cruise on Lake Chuzenji, at the foot of Mount Nantai, where you can take a ride in a pedalo.
  • Later in the afternoon, stroll along the Ryuzu no Taki Falls and enjoy a wonderful walk through the forest.

  • Sample the Kura-Tamago, black eggs hard-boiled in boiling waters that, it is said, will add seven years to the life of those who eat them.
  • In the afternoon, discover the Museum of the Little Prince, the only museum in the world to be devoted to the book by Saint-Exupéry, where you can visit a life-size reconstruction of his French hometown, Saint Maurice de Remens!

      Bring warm clothes as the winter temperatures in Tokyo are similar to those in Paris.
