Nagoya

Nagoya is located in the heart of central Japan and is one of the main economic and industrial hubs of the country. The city was developed in the 16th century by Ieyasu Tokugawa, who founded the Shogun Tokugawa dynasty, around the castle that became his son’s fortified residence. Their descendants continued to live there until the Meiji Restoration in 1868. Today, with a rich historical heritage that is still present, the city’s industrial museums, shopping centres and giant train station, which the locals call Mei-eki, are a symbol of the country’s economic dynamism.
