Daizaifu is famous for the Shinto temple of Daizaifu Tenmangu, which is dedicated to Michizane Sugawara, the god of knowledge. This temple is surrounded by over 6,000 Japanese plum trees, which bloom from February to March. The 13th century Zen temple of Komyozenji is also a must-see. You can meditate in its beautiful stone garden and in the traditional Japanese garden at the back.
