The town of Aizuwakamatsu is in Fukushima prefecture, Japan. Built around a castle that dates back to 1592, the town was partially destroyed during the Boshin civil war (1868), but the remains of the castle are still standing. The town is famous for its lacquer crafts as well as textiles and sake.
